Mission:

Caring for and improving the lives of our citizens by providing interim assistance for financial and medical needs to qualified cases.

Description:

St. Clair Township provides GA in accordance with written standards provided in the General Assistance Handbook for Local Governments. These standards are applied consistently to those who apply.

General Assistance (GA) can be available to those who are not eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and do not have the financial resources to provide for their needs. GA programs help people meet their basic living requirements. To qualify for GA, you must have very little income and assets and live within the geographical area of St. Clair Township.

Please call or visit the office to obtain an application.
